„Our mission is to build leaders through holistic, transformative and innovative education.” (IIM-B)

KRISHNA'S ELITE confronts German audiences with the values and principles of future world leaders from India. Flinntheater artists investigated the ideologies, dreams and visions of the young Indian student elite at India’s renowned management school, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bangalore.

How do IIM students want to shape the world? What are their attitudes towards capitalism, equality, sustainability, democracy and justice? Are their decisions driven by Darwinian principles, or do they follow Hindu doctrines? And what possible impact could they have on Germany’s future?

Indian companies are among the biggest global players. Increasingly, Indian managers are leading international finance corporations and rating agencies. For example, Anshu Jain, a native of India, recently joined the executive board of Deutsche Bank.

Through interviews and workshops with students of the IIM Bangalore, Flinntheater examined the everyday life and ideational world of this young Indian elite. This material was then transformed into a performance, the result being a fragmentary yet factual and informative kaleidoscope, hovering between documentary and fiction, creating theatre that is entertaining, tragic, and visionary.
